- Harbour Rocks Hotel reopens following a full transformation across it rooms and public venues
The Harbour Rocks Hotel has reopened following a full transformation of its 59 rooms and suites.
Built in 1887 as Evans’ Stores, the heritage hotel in The Rocks precinct is managed by EVT and part of Ode Hotels, a collection of boutique historic properties.
The transformation sees a renewed drinking and dining offering downstairs. Eric’s Bar is the social heart of the hotel, while the Garden Terrace offers a more intimate space for private occasions.

The hotel’s signature dining restaurant, Tayim, will also reopen led by Head Chef Youssef Anid. Signature dishes will include smoked lamb kofta with Moroccan tajine and pepper oil; lobster tail with muhammara, garlic and coriander oil; and a halawi cheesecake with marie base, tahina cream and dark chocolate drizzle.
“What excites me most about this next chapter is that we’ve been able to rethink the entire guest experience, while keeping the intimacy and personality that has always made Harbour Rocks special,” said Jeanfrancois Savaroc, EVT general manager of Harbour Rocks Hotel.

“Harbour Rocks isn’t about experiencing Sydney from a hotel room, it’s about feeling part of the neighbourhood while you’re here, and leaving with a few stories you didn’t expect.”
Joel Gordon, group general manager of Ode Hotels, said Harbour Rocks has always had an extraordinary connection to The Rocks.
“Our intention was never to erase its history, but to give this building its next chapter, a feeling of new heritage,” he said.
“We want Harbour Rocks to be somewhere visitors feel immediately connected to the neighbourhood, but equally somewhere locals choose to drink, dine and spend time. Ultimately, we want the hotel to feel like it belongs to The Rocks, because it does.”
